Top 10 North Texas Architecture Firms

Dallas' HKS Inc. led this year's Architecture Firms List from the Dallas Business Journal.

The international design firm had 197 local registered architects in 2022, HKS reported, earning it the top spot on the annual List. Corgan took second with 130 local registered architects.

Architecture firms featured on the Business Journal’s 2023 North Texas Architecture Firms List generated a combined total of $1.14 billion in local gross billing in 2022.

Below is a bar graph of the local registered architects of the individual top 10 companies from 2021 to 2022.

Fifty-three companies responded to the survey this year. The Business Journal distributed surveys beginning December 29.

To be eligible for this List, a firm must be active in the planning, design and review process in the construction of commercial buildings and be located within the Business Journal’s core coverage areas in Collin, Dallas, Denton or Tarrant counties.

Here’s a look into the top 10 architecture firms in Dallas-Fort Worth, ranked by the number of local registered architects.

No. 1: HKS Inc.

Locally founded in 1939, the private architecture firm has two offices and 27 companywide. There were 614 employees, companywide revenue of $300.91 million and $495.56 in companywide gross billings in 2022.

Locally founded in 1938, the private architecture firm has two offices and 16 companywide. It had 508 employees and companywide revenue of $331.18 million in 2022.
