High-rise AC Hotel was built by Dallas developer Jackson-Shaw.

Dallas developer Jackson-Shaw has opened a new hotel in downtown Fort Worth.

The 16-story, 252-room hotel is on West Fifth Street near Sundance Square.

The hotel will be the first AC Hotel by Marriott property in Tarrant County. It will be managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

“The AC Hotel Fort Worth is designed for creative, well-traveled, visionaries who appreciate a thoughtfully designed space,” Jackson-Shaw’s Joe Blewitt said in a statement. "The hotel features gallerylike art installations, a library, serene outdoor space and a bar that can also function as unconventional workspaces.

“Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the modern lifestyle brand is a hub for guests to discover the coveted local scenes and talents, allowing them to create meaningful and authentic connections with each visit.”

The new hotel includes a full-service bar and a first-floor coffee shop.

Simmons Bank provided financing for the project, which was designed by Dallas' Merriman Anderson Architects.

The general contractor was Austin Commercial.

The AC Hotel Fort Worth is one of the few North Texas hotels to open during the pandemic.

Jackson-Shaw is an almost-50-year-old company that has built more than 60 million square feet of hospitality, industrial and residential projects.
