ADDISON, TX—September 9, 2021—Merriman Anderson Architects completes renovation work on the multi-faceted retail project Prestonwood Place, a retail shopping center in Addison, Texas.
Prestonwood Place is a 133,353-square-foot shopping center built in 1980 and is located north of Dallas at the corner of Montfort Drive and Beltline Road in Addison. Merriman Anderson Architects completed a renovation for 40,000 square feet of facade updates, a 60,000 square-foot conversion of a large retail establishment store into new, creative office space, and three retail shell spaces. Tenants include Catapult Health, Mendocino Farms, Biscuit Bar, La La Land Kind Cafe, and many more.
The architecture team transformed an empty and outdated big-box manufacturing shop into a completely rebranded multi-tenant destination building while retrofitting a modular facade approach that could be applied to the entire plaza. This was successfully done while also remaining within the owner’s financial budget.
“Prestonwood Place is a special project as the center offers a wide range of dining, retail, and lifestyle options to a densely populated area,” said Kyle Cooper, Associate and Project Architect at Merriman Anderson Architects. “We hope that the many visitors the shopping center attracts daily will enjoy the renovated and aesthetically pleasing space.”
Northwood Retail is the developer for Prestonwood Place. The Beck Group is the general contractor for the project. B&H Engineers, Inc. is the MEP engineer, and Group Structural Engineers, Inc. is the structural engineer. RLG Consulting Engineers is the civil engineer, and TBG Partners is the landscape architect.
