North Dallas hotel to get design reboot

Dallas' Woodbine Development Corp. has begun a redo of the 11-story Hilton Dallas/Park Cities Hotel in Preston Center.

Woodbine is spending $5.5 million on upgrades to the 224-room boutique hotel located near the southeast corner of Northwest Highway and the Dallas North Tollway.

Merriman Anderson Architects is handling the redesign of the hotel — built in 1999 — which is scheduled for completion later this year.

"As the owner and asset manager of Hilton Dallas/Park Cities, Woodbine is investing in this boutique hotel with the long-term in mind," Dupree Scovell, managing partner and chief investment officer of Woodbine, said in a statement. "We also anticipate that the food-and-beverage improvements will benefit overnight guests while helping attract more local customers from Preston Center and the surrounding neighborhoods like Preston Hollow and the Park Cities."

The remodeling will add six hotel rooms to the hotel, which has 9,209 square feet of meeting space.

Woodbine acquired the hotel last year. The property was the first purchase by Woodbine Legacy Investments, a hospitality-focused real estate investor.
