The Boys & Girls Club of Denton County project converts a former fire station into a permanent youth development facility for children, teens, families, and the community. Merriman Anderson Architects is delivering architectural and interior design services for the adaptive reuse, transforming the garage and support areas into flexible spaces, including a Sport Court, Teen Center, Game Room, education and multi-purpose rooms, art room, offices, lobby, restrooms, and mechanical support areas.
The project involves evaluating existing building conditions, field verification, code and life-safety review, accessibility upgrades, and coordination of building systems for public use. Planned improvements include code and energy updates, exterior painting, interior and furniture planning, restroom and support space coordination, and creating a TAS-compliant accessible path from the parking lot to the entrance.
Through targeted improvements and practical design, MAA is transforming an underutilized civic facility into a lasting community resource.
