The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County launched a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen to serve hot, daily meals and youth culinary training.
Merriman Anderson Architects provided complete design services for partially renovating the Boys & Girls Club facility on East Belknap Street in Fort Worth. The project converted an outdated Home Economics kitchen, adjacent conference room, and storage areas into a high-capacity, fully operational commercial kitchen. Designed to support the preparation of up to 3,500 scratch-made meals daily, the new kitchen is a flexible classroom space for culinary education and hospitality job training.
This project supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County’s “Culinary Connection” initiative—empowering youth with life skills and workforce readiness training through real-world kitchen operations. The Blue Door Kitchen serves as a key piece of the organization’s mission to nourish body and mind, while building pathways to long-term opportunity.
