Northwood University Student Housing is an on-campus residential facility that can accommodate up to 300 students. The housing boasts shared living areas and a community lounge that complement the campus's natural wooded character. The facility's development occurred over five years in five phases, with each apartment-style dormitory averaging 18,000 square feet and accommodating an average of sixty students. The low-rise buildings are nestled against the wooded hills and situated on a new loop road, Knight's Circle.
The new dormitories face a green space known as The Knoll, which provides much-needed open space for informal student activities. The university's desire to preserve the natural beauty of its rare rural setting is reflected in The Knoll's support of such activities. The buildings' design blends seamlessly with the natural wooded setting of the campus and employs LEED® and sustainable strategies to achieve an aesthetic that complements the natural landscape. Each two-bed student suite comes equipped with a private bathroom.
