Derek, a seasoned project architect, has been an active industry member since 2003. He is notably focused on maintaining high-quality project delivery standards and is vital in developing and managing MAA's Quality Assurance and Quality Control program.

Derek's portfolio boasts an impressive list of clients, including McLaren Automotive, Provident Realty Advisors, Oncor Electric Company, LIV Development, and the Manhattan Construction Company. His range of experience encompasses a variety of project types, from hospitality and multi-family to industrial, retail, and office spaces.

Derek's expertise is demonstrated by his successful completion of several notable projects, such as the McLaren North America Headquarters, Highway 114 Distribution Center, Oncor Transmission Repair Center in Midlothian, Texas, and the Manhattan Construction Company Office in Farmers Branch, Texas. He brings valuable insight to his role as Project Architect, having worked on projects involving new development, renovation, and prototypical brand application. Derek's experience includes client and consultant coordination, construction administration, and code analysis.

Currently, Derek is engaged in the development of the Livano Henderson multi-family in Las Vegas, Midlothian Business Park, and the Oncor Electric Company service center in DeSoto, TX. He is also responsible for internal plan reviews, facilitating continuing education for staff, and overseeing the progress of personnel.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control are paramount concerns for both Derek and MAA. In 2020, Derek was invited to participate as a panelist at the Advancing Construction Quality conference and, in 2022, to speak at the Advancing Design Quality Management conference in Dallas, Texas. Derek is committed to continuously improving quality standards at MAA and aims to share his expertise and best practices with industry professionals.
