Mike Leinback is a registered architect with over 40 years of experience. Although he began his career in the era of hand-drafting, Mike quickly transitioned to the digital design world.

For nearly two decades, Mr. Leinback managed a boutique architectural firm that he founded. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including educational, religious, residential, retail, financial, and large-scale industrial projects.

In his current role at MAA, Leinback manages the processes and procedures that comprise the backbone of MAA's workflow in delivering a project. Working independently and collaboratively with the MAA team, he seeks new ways to tackle and resolve old, often overlooked issues. Mike's extensive experience provides significant insight into the overall architectural process, particularly concerning the production and management of construction documents and construction administration.

As a Senior Project Manager, Leinback had the privilege of participating in the significant renovation/restoration of the Fondren Library on the SMU campus. The project took two years to complete and involved many moving parts as the library remained operational 24/7 during construction. The three previously separate wings of the library were combined to form a cohesive learning environment. Many historical elements lost due to previous remodeling efforts were uncovered and, when necessary, fabricated to restore the library to its original grandeur. All systems were discreetly modernized and fully complied with today's standards.

Leinback recently served as the Senior Project Manager for a 2,000,000-square-foot distribution center for a national retailer located on the outskirts of El Paso. The facility boasts approximately 18 miles of conveyor lines, over 250 truck bays, and a 40,000-square-foot office component.

During Mike's years in the industrial realm, he produced numerous large distribution centers for a single national building materials retailer, many of which incorporated on-site rail lines along with tractor-trailer facilities.

Mike's experience in student housing includes a 3-story, 500-bed residence hall for Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, as well as student apartments for the University of Texas at the Permian Basin in Odessa. The project consists of six 2-story buildings which provide for 200 beds.
