Originally designed for First National Bank by George Dahl and Thomas E. Stanley, construction on 1401 Elm began in 1961 and the building opened in 1965. 1401 Elm’s renovation is a modernization of a classic Dallas icon in the mindful spirit of George Dahl. Spanning the entire city block, the 9th-floor deck is open to the public sector, along with restored access to the 50th-floor observation deck. With 1,500,000 SF, the project houses 330 residential units, 250 five-star hotel rooms, 140,000 SF of retail space, and 950 parking spaces.
